Highfield Dylan

07/05/1995 - 18/07/2000

This is Highfield Dylan. Dylan is a gelding and has been extremely successful in the show ring. In 1999 he began a showing career under saddle with my daughter Eleanor and was very successful, including winning a class on the Shetland Pony Performance Awards, and being second in the overall Ridden Shetland Championship for Scottish ponies. The picture below was taken at his first show, the Fife Show in May 1999 where he came home with 6 rosettes including a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in ridden classes, as well as rosettes for being the best ridden shetland at the show. In 2000 he was shown just the once at the Fife Show where he was placed 3rd in a quality open ridden class. In 18 months Dylan won in excess of 60 rosettes, a trophy and a medal. Dylan absolutely adored humans and would follow anybody anywhere. Dylan was put to sleep in July 2000 after a very sudden, unexpected freak illness. Dylan loved life and had everything to live for. Eleanor and Dylan had a very special bond, and they adored each other. In Eleanors eyes Dylan could never put a foot wrong, and she loved and worshipped him and he her. Words cannot express how much my family loved this pony and how much he is missed.
